Summary "Network industries, such as telecommunications or the digital sector, are particularly dynamic and innovative today. As they are becoming an increasingly important part of our modern economies, regulating them is of paramount importance. Jean-Marc Zogheib's thesis is divided into three essays. The first chapter deals with M&A incentives in the context of a regional market. The second chapter focuses on the problem of the deployment of infrastructure networks when a private company is competing with a public company. The third chapter is devoted to the study of competition in digital markets and the role of privacy in competition between digital players. Through these three chapters, the author's main objective is to study the interactions between public policy and firms' strategies in the network industries. To do so, Jean-Marc Zogheib will, in a totally innovative way, combine the tools offered by theoretical economic analysis to illustrate the main issues raised by the network industries. Going beyond the only economic analysis, the author has shed new light on the problems posed for competition policy and the regulation of digital sectors"-- Provided by publisher.
